New Mission 02:22
2.
I am Samus Aran, the Bounty Hunter. Let me tell you a story. The story starts when I was on my way back to planet Zebes. My mission. To end the space pirate threat once and for all. My arrival on Zebes awoke memories of my past. I remembered the invation on my home planet K2L. I remembered my youth and my training with the Chozo people. I remembered my years of service in the galactic federation army. I remembered defeating and destroying Mother Brain. And I remembered how I found the last Metroid Larva on SR388 after I destroyed the Metroid Queen. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't look past the fact that all these events had led me up to this point. I was back on planed Zebes and it was too late for me to turn back. I had to come full circle and face that witch started it all. I'm Samus Aran, and this is my story.

Red Hot Lava 01:32
As I left the decaying body of the spore creature and made it down towards Norfair, a thought struck my mind. What if the Metroid larva I collected on SR388 was looking for me. What if it felt like I deserted it on that research station. I don't know if the Metroid larva had awoken my maternal instincts, but I suddenly stopped and realized the cheer absurdity of the though. I was raised by the Chozo and taught that Metroids were an abomination, a perversion of their lust for power and knowledge. They also told me that their fatal mistake of creating such an abomination had to be corrected. The heat of the lava and the frustration of not having immediate access to all areas of Norfair interupted my thoughts. It was clear to me that I had to return to Norfair before this mission was over, but in order for me to do so I had to upgrade my power suit to be able to resist the heat of the volcanic areas. In my heart I knew this journey was far from over.

I found myself wandering a dark corridor of a derelict spaceship. I wondered what its purpose was and where is originated from. The spaceship seemed old. very old, but that also struck me as odd since I had been here before and I had never seen advanced construction of any kind. At least not a huge derelict spaceship sticking out of the sea. Feint sparks of electricity fell from the ceiling to the floor in the corridor were I stood. It provided a small source of light in the dark, but not to any great extent. Somehow I felt like was being watched, but I couldn't tell if my premonitions were correct. The silence and absense of life started to freak me out. I felt a chill down my spine, right through the thick layers of my power suit. I usually feel calm in the dark, but there was nothing calm about me in that dark forsaken place. I begun to focus my thought on a single goal, to push away the growing fear tht I felt. I needed to restore the ship's main power source and turn the lights back on.

deep beneath Maridia tumbling, trembling avoiding the sand aand, drawing me in, pulling me closer and closer a maze of pipes, pipes with metal stripes reflecting I reflect on past troubbles floating with boubbles they burst at the touch of the surface above lost in cold, freezing water pushing ever closer teasing space high above surface level a cavernous place in which I drain my outer surface the clinging green hanging, dangling high walls looking down, dwarving my physical existence agresive eyes moving in the dark, observing me from afar maliciously following my metalic contour moving closer and closer in silence narrowing the distance on higher ground focusing, planning, climbing and charging washed over by plasma whining through the air fear and adrenaline surging, thoughts converging I act with speed and vanquish the pirate breed but in the act I lost my grip and plunged once more beneath deep, deep beneath Maridia tumbling, trembling avoiding the sand

After I had risen above my childhood fears and defeted Ridley I returned to the center of Crateria. There, deep inside a water filled cave I found a strange set of statues. It was clear to me that the statues depicted Kraid, Phantoon, Draygon, and Ridley. All these creatures I had fought against and destroyed. Each statue had bright orbs where the eyes should be. All of a sudden the cave began to shake. Heavy rocks fell down from the cave ceiling and hit the water below. The orbs started to glow. One after another the orbs cracked and small lights flew out from inside each orb. It all seemed so magestic, but in a frightenig and foreboding way. When the orbs cracked and all lights had all but disappeared, the statue began to move, revealing a passageway hidden underneath. I knew I was close to finding answers to all my questions, but at the same time I knew, those answeres would not make any difference at this point. I knew that Ridley was just another pawn. I had to finish what I started and reveal the master mind behind the space pirate activity on Zebes.

Mother Brain 03:08
I fell to the ground, my legs barely able to support the weight of the power suit anymore. The revived Mother Brain charged her plasma for a killing blow. Suddenly the Metroid larva who had evolved into a super metroid arrived seemingly out of nowhere and attacked Mother Brain sucking her life energy. In the corner of my eye I saw how Mother Brain turned into a pale and lifeless version of her former self. I was amazed by the power of the Metroid. Only moments later the Metroid latched on to my power suit and filled me with Mother Brain's energy. It felt like nothing I've never felt before or since. Like raw power surging through the very core of my being, but in the blink of an eye the revived Mother Brain blew the last Metroid to pieces. Small, glowing Metroid particles rained down. In anger I charged my cannon and fired a shot sraight at Mother Brain. Mother Brain was no more.

The Escape 01:48
Loud sirens, blast walls closing. When my shot pierced Mother Brain the same blast shattered vital parts of the planet's artificial core. I heard in horror how a computerized voice stated: Warning! three minutes to selfdestruction. Blast doors closed quickly behind me as I past them, a few Zebesians tried to stop me, but they were leaderless and probably more confused then I was at the time. The computerized voice reminded me once again to hurry: Warning! 1 minute to selfdestruction. My mind raced. All the events of my life flashed before my eyes until I arrived at one single thought. I have to survive. Disoriented by the chaos I lost all sense of time and place. Without really knowing how it happened I found myself in my ship well on my way to exit the atmosphere of Zebes. My mind was in fragments. Images of my recent past replayed in my mind, it all seemed so unreal. Then it happened. I still remember the ear deafening sound of planet Zebes exploding behind my ship and how I almost got caught in the blast radius. To this day I don't quite know how I survived, but I did. Planet Zebes, Mother Brain, the last Metroid and my childhood fear Ridley. All gone, and now, it's all part of a past I can't seem to forget. I'm Samus Aran, and this is my story.

I can't believe all the things that I've been through it seems so unreal to me but in the blink of an eye it all went down A thought struck my mind what if I could wind back time it seems so unreal to me but in the blink of an eye it all went down how could I have known and though I'm glad I'm going home a feeling unknown of being alone I can't conceive all the things that happened only moments ago It seems so unreal to me but in the blink of an eye it all went down it gave me life again but it lost it's own at the prize of mine it seems so surreal to me but in the blink of an eye it all went down how could I have known and though I'm glad I'm going home a feeling unknown of being alone
